PFW 2012: SM Ladies Wear

~ ~
FASHION
The second show we watched during fashion week was for SM Ladies' Wear. It was another much-anticipated show and was quite well-attended. In fact, we even ran into Aisa, Sarah, Ana, and  a ton of other bloggers who were all dressed to the nines. Here's my lazy post-preschool outfit!
I bought this Topshop dress during one of the sales this year. It's not in a shape that I usually wear but I kind of gravitated toward it anyway. It's the combination of the magnified print and modest fit (balanced out with a slightly higher hemline courtesy of the seamstress).
Topshop dress,  Dsquared heels, vintage clutch
I didn't really bother with bold accessories since a) we were running late and b) the screaming florals seemed sufficient.
Just threw on my favorite heels and grabbed my grandma's beautifully textured clutch and was out the door before P could even start complaining.

THE SHOW
It was a strong start with a showcase of Parisian shoes and bags. Aside from all the awesome products, I really loved all the PVC clothing they used to pull the entire segment together! I would love to get my hands on the plastic skirts and coats!
How cool is this line-up?!
More on Parisian in the next post!

It was a great idea to compartmentalize the show based on fabric prints, outfit suitability (day/night wear), and just the general aesthetic of the clothes.
Cute nautical look
Love the colors and prints in this set!
Really sweet yellow dress!
Everyone gushed over these vegetable print skirts!
This red pepper one was my fave.
Flowy maxis
More vibrant prints
Sorry for the terrible photo but I just loved this maxi dress on Ria Bolivar! She looked stunning! It fell beautifully on her (but of course)!
Corporate wear with a graphic twist
Nice mod touch on this striped shift.
Both looks are fab! Can you spot the print on the wide-leg trousers?
Cute doctor's bag + color-blocking
Lightweight orange trench makes a big statement.
This is the thing that I need to have most; I love that peplum skirt!
Interesting lace flares
And the grand finale, this red showstopper!
The final walk-through was yet another testament to how SM has been stepping up its game by providing us with an outfit for every occasion.
Congratulations to the team that mounted the successful show! I can't wait to see them on the racks!

Our Ramp Wishlist

FASHION
Previously, we posted about our top clothing picks from The Ramp's show. Now, we wanted to do a follow-up post to make a list of our favorite accessories and outfit toppers.

D's LIST
 Beaded clutch PHP1950
This is a fun piece to sneak in before the end of summer officially arrives. The beaded pattern is definitely an eye-catcher.
Peep-toe heels with neon detail PHP2650
Here's a subtle way to add the neon trend to your look. I'm also loving the slightly curved shape of the heel.
Criss-cross platforms PHP1990
What a great color combo on this pair. It's an instant way to prettify a hard-edged outfit.
White gold capped toe flats with spiked metallic ankle strap PHP1750:
I'm a huge fan of the capped toe trend and I love it even more in white and gold. The ankle strap with spikes is such a an awesome extra.
 Peplum faux leather belt PHP1250
This is the belt from one of the looks in our previous post, it's an instant game-changer.

 P's LIST
 Braided belt PHP580
It's a classic with a twist! The color combo will give a nice punch to any outfit.
 Paisley pocket squares PHP350
I like adding a dandy touch to blazers or suits with pocket squares. It's a versatile way to dress up or down an outfit, depending on the occasion (i.e. with a sleek square or a puff).
Patent loafers PHP3350
Check out the slipper-loafers, made even more boss with the patent finish.

PFW 2012: The Ramp Crossings

~ ~
FASHION
Last Tuesday, we attended The Ramp's Fall/Holiday show for Philippine Fashion Week. We usually love anything The Ramp comes up with so despite our full work days and the daunting prospect of the traffic situation (especially since it was Lady Gaga's concert), we hauled ass all the way to the end of EDSA.
P: 21Men blazer, BKK buttondown, Topman Limited corduroys and pocket square, Uniqlo belt, Mark R loafers
I like the combination of the brown tweed with the different shades and textures of blue. I was hoping to add a bit of flair with the floral pocket square and the pink collar.

Awhile back, I spotted this overlap skirt from Zara that I really wanted but never got around to buying it. Luckily, I found one with the same shape and in an ever better print from Landmark for less than P1000! I snapped it up right away because I couldn't pass up on the chance to pair this tribal print with fun colors.
The green blazer and the loafer heels smarten up the entire look and allow me to leave my house without complaints from my dad. :)
D: Vivienne Westwood blazer, H&M lace bralette, Landmark tribal print skirt and sunglasses, Jeffrey Campbell heels

THE SHOW
D: True to their promise, The Ramp's show really did offer up a mixology of style. From paisley to zebra, rompers to midi skirts, and metallics to sheer, there was an outfit to suit every lifestyle occasion.
P: What I really appreciate about The Ramp's menswear is that the clothes are very wearable while maintaining a bit of edge to keep your look from being too vanilla.
Cute electric blue shoes with curved heels

My favorite shoes of the show!

Feathers+sheer fabric

Loved the shape of the sheer overlay on top of the electric blue mini dress!

Again, I love these cap toe shoes!! I need them asap.
Here are some of our favorite looks from the catalogue:
Love the striking and symmetrical paisley dress (P2250) paired with the lemon blazer (P1600)!
This peplum faux leather belt (P1250) is a must-have! It can transform almost everything you own.
Everyone needs a pair of sharply tailored trousers in a fun print (P1800)!
This jacquard peplum romper (P1695) is so easy to wear but it can make you look like a million bucks, definitely not your average playsuit.
A boring button down is amped up by shoulder cut-out details and a bold print (P2650).
Love the metal tip collar detail on the top (P990)!
I'm a sucker for stripes and the varying widths and colors on this knit sweater (P1290) makes it anything but basic.
The muted color blocking in this look is really sharp, great for the city or on a yacht (blazer, P3550; shorts, P990).
I really love the single button look on a jacket, a white one to boot (P3990). The track pants (P1880) are a nice marriage of a relaxed fabric and a tailored cut.

No doubt you've seen a few interesting pieces in this collection! We're ready to get our hands on our top picks as well. See you all at The Ramp!
