Lemuria

~ ~
FOOD

Online shopping has been so hard to avoid with all these group-buying websites with ridiculous deals and promos popping up. We got to snap up a promo for a 4-course meal in Lemuria, a restaurant we've been hearing great things about.

It's a small, intimate place tucked into Horseshoe Village in QC/San Juan.

 So charming!

The promo menu
Complimentary bread
The brioche was good and tasted fresh out of the oven, especially with the balsamic vinegar.

Salt and pepper bowls with a mother-of-pearl spoon were pretty yet practical touch.

 Prawn bisque
This soup dish was very flavorful and had a nice grit to it.

 Salad Lyonnaise
This salad has the perfect poached egg and delicious smoked bacon bits.
It could have used a bit more dressing though.

 Seabass with mushroom risotto
I'm a fan of seabass, it's so soft and fatty (in a good way)

This was a beautifully presented dish and the best tasting one, in our opinion.
The risotto was super yummy and the fish flaked nicely.

 Strawberry sorbet
Not as impressive or tasty as the one in Lolo Dad's but it did the job.

Beef with duck liver and anchoviade

This was plated so nicely and the contents were pretty tasty.

The beef was juicy and well-cooked and the foie gras was a treat, but we felt like the dish lacked some sort of carbohydrate component. Maybe potatoes?

Chocolate souffle with Grand Marnier vanilla sauce

We're big dessert people and this was a huuuge let-down. It sounds good on paper, but this was not what we had in mind at all. It was not a souffle, it was more like puffy bread that barely had any chocolate flavor. The fruit and jam used as decor were seriously tastier. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Despite the less than stellar ending, Lemuria is an enchanting place to visit and the food was good, for the most part. Maybe just steer clear of the souffle.

FASHION

I picked out this roomy dress in anticipation of a heavy dinner. Left out the white sash because it made the dress way too short.
I see London, I see France...no thanks.
The tights are years old, from the time when colored legs were all the rage.

Teeter-tottering in these uncomfortable heels.

The heft of this Os necklace provided enough drama for the outfit. Just stuck on the rings that are in my everyday rotation.

I think I wear chinos entirely too often when I have to wear pants. I can't help it! They're so comfy and you can wear them with anything.

I like how the buttons pick up the color of the belt.

My super comfy Marikina-made loafers
